Remarks:
There was a time when Bushnell sold fine, high quality binoculars made in Japan, such as this Rangemaster from 1955. With its very wide 10 degree (=175m) field of view, well corrected optics and solid mechanics, these vintage instruments are today much sought-after by binocular enthusiasts. Today, sixty years later, Bushnell stills sells binoculars in the low to medium price range, with production outsourced to China (such as the 6×30 or 8×42 models in this collection, see separate posts
