Remarks:
Nikon’s largest handheld nature observation and astronomy binocular, a treasured instrument for hobby astronomers since many years. For a long time, this and Fujinon’s 16×70 FMT binocular (see separate post) were the crème de la crème of large handheld Porro binoculars and an instrument of choice for the avid hobby astronomer, but since a few years, a stream of new 16×70, 20×70 and 20×80 binoculars, made in China and sold under different brand names, have created more competition at attractive prices; some of the newer models feature ED glass and perform very well (e.g. APM, see separate posts). Still, the 18x Nikon is a superb and very well made binocular.
