Remarks:
The Wildlife XP was introduced in 2014 as Steiner’s successor to the Discovery (see separate post “Steiner Discovery 8×44”, https://binocular.ch/steiner-discovery-8×44/). It got updated AR coatings and offers a slightly larger field of view (133/1000m vs 130/1000m). Otherwise, it is essentially identical with the Discovery, including special features such as diopter adjustment knobs on both eyepieces (in addition to central focusing). After the Wildlife XP was originally very expensive for a glass of this class, it got lately available at a more affordable price in many locations. Proverbial sturdiness and good but not outstanding optical performance are the marks of this glass.
