In BINOCULARS TODAY’s opinion, this is one of the best general purpose binoculars in the entire collection (“almost premium performance for an upper middle class price”): Crisp color rendition, high contrast, a bright image, more field of view than e.g. Zeiss Conquest HD or Leica Ultravid HD+, and excellent handling in a compact body.

In 2020, Swarovski stopped selling the x42 models of the SLC, but it is still producing them and selling them through its subsidiary Kahles (see separate post, https://binocular.ch/kahles-helia-s-8×42/).
