Remarks:
In fall of 2024, Zeiss updated its well-known Conquest HD line of binoculars – 8×32, 10×32, 8×42, 10×42, 8×56, 10×56 and 15×56, see separate posts in this collection – with a “makeover” and called the new series of binoculars “Conquest HDX”. A lockable diopter adjustment ring, new body armour, improved eyecups with slightly less eye relief, a minimally modified focus mechanism and modified AR coatings are the main improvements. Optical specifications remain the same. Transmission is specified to be 90%. With their superb build quality and finish, the Conquest line remains an excellent choice in the upper (subprime) binocular market. The 8×42 model features a field of view that is somewhat narrower than the one in many of its competitors (in cintrast, the smaller “sibling” HDX 8×32 has a much wider FOV, see separate post https://binocular.ch/zeiss-conquest-hdx-8×32/), but class-leading sharpness, fast focus and easy handling make this a good choice esp. for birders and nature enthusiasts.
