Remarks:

The Commander has been on the market since a number of years now, it has been sold in various editions, the “XP” and “Race Edition” being some of them. Currently, only the plain “7×50” with a wider field of view (see separate post https://binocular.ch/steiner-commander-7×50/) is still being sold by Steiner, plus two models with compass (“Commander 7x50K”, see separate post https://binocular.ch/steiner-commander-7×50-k/, and “Commander Global”). The Commander is the “embodiment” of a typical marine binocular, a sturdy instrument with very good optical and mechanical performance. It is one of the most compact 7x50s on the market.
