In a January 2014 review on CloudyNights, comparing the (then) new SLC 8×56 with the iconic Zeiss Victory FL 8×56, Erik Bakker named the SLC “… a stunning blend of magnification, image quality and ergonomics”, (see

There is nothing to add. Like its 10x and 15x siblings with higher magnifications, the SLC 8×56 is a superb instrument with one of the largest fields of view among similarly sized binoculars. The Zeiss HT 8×54 (see https://binocular.ch/zeiss-victory-ht-8×54/ ) may beat it in image brightness, but the SLC clearly outperforms the HT in off-axis sharpness.
