Remarks:
The 10×42 Lux used to be** one of the newer models of Chemnitz (Germany) based DDoptics. It is particularly compact; the 10×42 version is one of the shortest 10x40s on the market. Short build goes hand in hand with short focal length, which usually results in more chromatic aberration. The Japan made Lux actually corrects CA reasonably well, thanks in particular to the use of ED glass. The field of view is not overwhelming, but okay, and a special lens provides a flat image; central sharpness is good, edge sharpness is satisfactory, the precision of the focus mechanism is a bit sub-standard.
**Currently, the Lux is only sold in sizes 8×25 and 10×25.
